Cash and Voucher Assistance for Nutrition in Emergencies: Programmatic Challenges and Promising Practices

KAC was commissioned by the Global Nutrition Cluster Technical Working Group to conduct a review of Programmatic Challenges and Promising Practices in the use of Cash and Voucher Assistance for Nutrition in Emergencies. The review was intended to complement and operationalise an Evidence and Guidance note which was developed in 2020 on the same theme with the ultimate aim of providing nutrition and CVA experts valuable perspectives on how to maximize nutrition outcomes through CVA. To this end, used a mixed methods approach and interviewed 125 CVA and nutrition experts from 15 different crisis affected countries. Additionally 81 documents and a total of 114 projects were reviewed. Through these methods, KAC produced a report on challenges and best practices, a frequently asked questions document for nutrition experts, along with 2 workshops presenting findings.
