ALNAP Lessons Paper on Ebola epidemics

Key Aid Consulting was commissioned by ALNAP to develop a Lessons Paper on the humanitarian responses to epidemics of Ebola. This paper is targeting humanitarian practitioners including non-health specialists and aimed at gathering lessons learned from the past 10 years of responses to Ebola epidemics, in order to improve future responses. The methodology used for this paper followed ALNAP’s methodology on Lessons papers, inspired from systematic reviews. More than 10,00 documents were screened and 185 were included in the Lessons Paper, which synthesizes the main lessons drawn from the humanitarian literature. A Delphi method was also used, gathering around 25 experts with hands-on experience on Ebola responses, who gave feedback on the relevance of the Lessons.
