External Final Evaluation of the Yes I Do programme and alliance
The Yes I Do Alliance (YIDA) is an alliance of five organisations, Plan International Netherlands (lead), Amref Flying Doctors, CHOICE for Youth and Sexuality, KIT Royal Tropical Institute, and Rutgers, established in 2015 and funded under the 2016-2020 Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Partnership Fund of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Its objective is to foster a world where girls decide if, when, and whom to marry and if, where, and with whom to have children. Girls are also protected from Female Genital Mutilation/cutting (FGM/C) and communities support girls in deciding and making their own choices. The Yes I Do programme was implemented in seven countries. The programme targeted in priority young people from 15 to 24 years old in selected areas of: Ethiopia, Kenya, Indonesia Malawi, Mozambique, Pakistan, and Zambia.
Key Aid Consulting was commissionned to carry out the final evaluation of the programme and alliance. The methodology relied on the analysis of quantitative baseline and endline data collected by KIT. It also used youth-friendly methods such as Photovoice and the PEER (Participatory Ethnographic Evaluation and Research) methodology to collect the opinions and stories of young people who took part in the programme. We also developed youth-friendly materials to ensure that the evaluation findings were accessible to young people in the programme countries.
