Evaluation of monetary interventions for livelihoods and economic inclusion in Burkina Faso
Evaluation
The Regional Bureau for West and Central Africa (RBWCA) and the Burkina Faso office of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) have commissioned Key Aid Consulting to carry out an evaluation of monetary interventions for livelihoods and economic inclusion in Burkina Faso. This decentralised evaluation started in January 2023 and covers the years 2020 to 2022. The scope of this evaluation is both summative and formative. The evaluation uses a mixed-methods approach, drawing on both secondary and primary data sources. The evaluation design is non-experimental and uses a case study model. The evaluation team formed its judgement using a variety of primary and secondary data sources, including a document review, 28 key informant interviews with UNHCR staff, implementing partners, government representatives and members of the sector, 33 focus group discussions in five of the seven intervention locations representing 93 per cent of people served by cash transfers. For secondary quantitative data, the evaluation team used statistical software to recalculate key indicators.
