UNICEF is increasingly distributing cash transfers in crisis settings, in line with its global commitment to scale up cash transfers as part of the Grand Bargain. Yet, UNICEF does not yet have a standard suite of information management tools to deliver cash programming. Key Aid provided technical expert support to help refine the proposed structure of UNICEF MIS structure for Humanitarian Cash Transfers.
To do so Key Aid worked with another consultancy, specialized in information systems, and developed a business case comparing different available options both from a Value for Money and a risk perspective. This document has since been used by UNICEF team in New York to advocate for resourcing the development of an in-house MIS system to support the standardization and scale up of UNICEF HCT.
