Evaluation of RefugePoint’s Host Country Solutions System Change “wins”
Evaluation
Key Aid consulting led an analysis of a set of five claims about RefugePoint’s work to bring about systems change in how refugees are supported in their first country of arrival. These claims focused on 1) RefugePoint’s Urban Refugee Protection Program (URPP) in Kenya, 2) the opening of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) in Kenya to refugees 3) the creation of a global movement around refugee self-reliance 4) the support and elevation of refugee-led organizations and 5) cultivating private funding in the refugee response sector.
Key Aid’s team collected data on the key activities, outputs, actors, and outcomes associated with each claim from a desk review of 35 documents and a total of 16 key informant interviews. Data was then analysed according to the following categories i) levers of change, ii) RefugePoint’s unique contribution, and iii) relevance for refugees. The findings were written up in a set of 5 briefs.
